you essentially get an extra AP and even more mana to proc more AMs off of.Īlso 3x pummeling scales well based on mastery, but only to a point (when I was running damage meter experiments on the mage hall pinata). 3x pummeling + amplification makes taking TA worth it. It worked pretty well but you’ll have plenty of people telling you equipoise is better. I was running 3x pummeling + amplification while I was still playing, I’m on break, not really planning on coming back right now. I mean sure it’s extra damage but the amount of free damage you get from rule of 3s essentially means you need to NEVER hit conserve phase for it to be worth it (like amp w/o pummeling was like 5k extra while I was playing, a 3 charge AB was probably like 18kish). the mana regen is more valuable.Īs a bonus question, is there a mastery break point where you’re able to effectively run Amplification over Rule of Threes for mana conservation?Īmplification is only useful in situations where you stack 3x pummeling. You are actually getting more value from the extra fully charged ABs you can cast than from actual damage bonuses. This is pretty much everything wrong with arcane scaling in a nutshell (it has plenty of other problems). Yes, but note that 60% bonus damage is all based on normal, uncharged AB damage, for me that’s somewhere just above 6k, so that 60% bonus, while looking huge on paper is a mere 4k increase on fully charged ABs, only applying during a burn phase, a meager 3kish dps increase (only during burn phase). Given the % damage increase of arcane blast per arcane charge, if a mage had a 15% bonus, would that mean your arcane blast does an extra 60% damage at full charges? I’ve just recently started getting into higher-end PvE and PvP content as an arcane mage, and I have a question about the damage from their mastery.
